MathPert Education is an online IGCSE Maths and Additional Maths tuition provider for Year 7 to Year 11 students in Malaysia. Classes are conducted live on Zoom by Teacher Au and are structured around a method-first approach: lessons prioritise understanding the reasoning behind each technique, so students can apply it to exam questions they have not seen before, not just replicate a memorised example.
Group classes are kept small — a maximum of 8 students — and are interactive. Teacher Au calls on students during class to walk through their working, which means students cannot coast passively. This structure is especially suited to IGCSE Add Maths, where the jump in difficulty from core Maths often catches students off guard if their conceptual grounding is shaky.
MathPert covers both Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) and Additional Mathematics (0606) and follows the Malaysian school calendar (January to December). Group classes are RM300/month for 4 sessions of 1.5 hours each. One-to-one sessions are available at RM150 per hour (RM225 per standard 1.5h session), subject to Teacher Au's availability.

MathPert Education — Method-First IGCSE Maths and Add Maths Online Tuition
MathPert Education provides online IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics tuition for students in Year 7 to Year 11 across Malaysia. Founded by Teacher Au, MathPert is built around one core teaching principle: method-first learning.
The problem Teacher Au observed repeatedly is that IGCSE students — particularly in Additional Mathematics — can follow a worked example step by step but cannot apply the same technique to a question they have not seen before. They have memorised the pattern but not understood the reasoning. When exam questions are rephrased or presented from a different angle, those students are stuck. MathPert's teaching is designed to close that gap by making the reasoning explicit at every step, so students build a method they own rather than a set of examples they can copy.
Classes are conducted live on Zoom. Group classes are capped at 8 students — small enough that Teacher Au calls on individual students, reviews their specific errors, and adjusts the pace in real time. Students are expected to participate, not just observe, which is what makes the small-group format worth the price difference over a large-class recording.
The curriculum covers both Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) and Additional Mathematics (0606) in full, with particular focus on algebraic structure, working layout, calculus method, and the foundational gaps — weak fraction handling, sign errors, incomplete algebra — that account for most of the marks students lose on exam day.
MathPert follows the Malaysian school calendar. New group intakes begin in January each year. Students on UK academic year schedules are welcome to enquire about one-to-one arrangements for off-cycle joining.
