Which year group should join which class?

The Malaysian Cambridge school year runs from January to November. Most students sit their Cambridge O Level examinations in Year 11 during the October/November session. The table below maps year groups to their recommended MathPert class track.

Year 7 and Year 8 Foundation Maths track. Builds number sense, fractions, early algebra, and the reasoning habits that IGCSE exams demand. No Cambridge exam in this period, but the habits formed here determine performance at O Level.

Year 9 Pre-IGCSE track. Closes algebra and geometry gaps before the full Cambridge 0580 syllabus begins. Recommended starting point for students who have never had structured maths tuition before.
